About Us
Qualifications
Pat Vallerand brings an extensive and varied background to
her work, having engaged in the private practice of law for
17 years with an emphasis on trial work involving family, custody,
juvenile, probate, employment, civil rights and consumer cases.
She has served as a part time Pro Tempore Judge with the Lane
County Circuit courts. She currently serves as an Arbitrator
for the Lane County Circuit Courts and a Mediator and Impartial
Hearing Officer for the State of Oregon Department of Human
Services, Vocational Rehabilitation Division.
She also is licensed to perform weddings and commitment ceremonies
in Oregon.
She is a member of the Oregon State Bar and Lane County Bar
Alternative Dispute Resolution sections and the Oregon Mediation
Association.
Pat Vallerand began her mediation and arbitration work while
still engaged in the private practice of law. She left law
practice in 1996, obtained additional extensive conflict resolution
training and has limited her work exclusively to this area
since 1998. She has handled a large number of private cases,
and has served as a volunteer for Lane County Small Claims
Court and Community Mediation Services since 1999, including
serving on CMS’s Board of Directors.
Having received training in various mediation styles, Pat
is able to provide a process and approach that best serves
individual client needs, from facilitative/transformational
to investigative/evaluative analysis.
Fees
Basic hourly fee for services is $125 an hour. A half-day
or full-day fee may be applied in appropriate cases. Travel
time out of town is generally charged at $65 an hour, plus
